Message: Jackpot! This might be where a lot of (most of?) the fakes are coming from. Not antique or Victorian - but both are claimed in the title and the description. The claims for Beidermeir, Art Nouveau, and other antique sounding names are also all wrong. Every listing that I've looked at is of a brand new item.
Read very carefully, and everything this seller is listing is brand new - being imported from outside the country. But, since the country of origin labels are gone, they are in blatant violation of import U.S. import laws.
The Victorian transferware is not handpainted as they claim. Can't be, actually.... Nor is it Victorian. Brand new.
And what's with the shipping terms - item might not be shipped for several weeks, months actually, after payment is made. Is that allowed under eBay policy?
Also, I seriously doubt that the "marble" tops are marble. Probably faux. Cast or molded out of synthetics mixed with stone. A common practice for countertops - but not genuine marble as is claimed here.
The "HP Best Victorian French majolica rooster" is not French, not HP, and not old. And if it was all of those, it wouldn't be retailing for $235 as they claim. Add a couple of zeros to that number....
There's lots more - please do ask for details.
Thank you.
